Bach, J.S. - Fugue in B Minor on a Theme of A. Corelli (BWV 579) - for String Quintet - arranged by Dishinger - Medici Music Press
by Johann Sebastian Bach (1685-1750)
for String Quintet (Two Violins, Two Violas, and Cello/Bass)
Transcribed and Arranged by Ronald C. Dishinger
Published by Medici Music Press
This intermediate level arrangement by Ronald Dishinger of J.S. Bach's Fugue in B minor on a Theme of Corelli, BWV 579, is written for string quiuntet, but can easily have bass added, or parts copied for string orchestra or chamber group. It includes one copy of each part (on a single one-sided page), as well as the bound reference score. The piece has some complex string crossings and rhythms (mostly in the 1st violin part), but is simple enough to be an arrangement great for intermediate student recitals, solo and ensemble competitions, or church and worship settings. It is available in several other instrumentation arrangements.
