Bliss, Arthur String Quartet in A Major, Op 4 Two Violins, Viola, and Cello Score and Parts Edition Peters

Bliss, Arthur String Quartet in A Major, Op 4 Two Violins, Viola, and Cello Score and Parts Edition Peters
The String Quartet in A Major, composed in 1914, is broadly romantic. In that same year, just before the onset of World War I, Bliss was studying composition at the Royal College of Music under Sir Charles Villiers Stanford, immersing himself in the English Romantic tradition. It seems he also found some inspiration in the Impressionists; shades of the colors found in works by Debussy and Ravel can be heard in this string quartet as well.
Difficulty: A5/A6
