"The Graceful Ghost Rag was originally written for solo piano in 1970 and was arranged for violin and piano in 1979. It is an elegant and fun short piece that features a great partnership between the violin and piano. Although the piece may sound simple when you listen to it, when playing it you may discover it is not as simple as it sounds.
Any theme with variation has the initial challenge of making each variation interesting. In addition to this, there are syncopated rhythms throughout the piece, several double-stops, and artificial harmonics in the violin part.
