David Forbes began his training as a bowmaker in the early 1980's, studying with William Salchow and Stephane Thomachot. David is a member of the American Federation of Violin and Bow Makers, the Violin Society of America, and former director of the Oberlin Bow Making Workshops. David has won two gold medals and numerous certificates at the Violin Society of America competition as well as awards at the City of Paris Competition and Manchester Cello Festival.
