The stick is of red-brown pernambuco, octagonal in shape. The frog is of ebony and nickel-silver with a Parisian eye at each of the faces. The two piece button is of nickel-silver ending in an ebony cap. The frog and button are not believed to be original.
Hermann Richard Pfretzschner began his studies with father, Carl Richard before working in the shop of J.B. Vuillaume in 1874. Pfretzschner established his own shop in Markneukirchen in 1880.
