Heinz Dölling, b.1913, apprenticed with his father Otto Dölling prior to passing his master's examination in Markneukirchen. In 1947, Heinz established his workshop in Saxony before moving it to Erlbach, Germany in 1965. Heinz was awarded a gold medal for a violin bow at the Luttich Trade Fair in 1969 and the family continues in the tradition of bowmaking to this day.
