Above the First Position is based on decades of experience teaching students shifting and 2nd to 5th positions. This method focuses first on 3rd position, and spends more time on that position than on any other. Upon becoming comfortable with 3rd position and shifting to and from it, learning 2nd, 4th, and 5th positions is significantly faster.
