Lillo Salerno, a native Italian violinmaker, received his diplomas in violinmaking from Cremona and Mittenwald, prior to working for several well-known restoration workshops. He established his shop in Pforzheim, Germany (Black Forest) in 2005. Salerno is a master maker, but also produces quality workshop violins, violas, and cellos patterned after Stradivari and Guarneri “del Gesu,” all using high-quality oil varnish.
