
F.&R. Enders Violin, Markneukirchen, c.1920
A fine example of early 20th century German violinmaking, this violin was made for the F. & R. Enders Company for distribution. Enders violins were available in varying levels of quality and this one was clearly one of their higher grades. Offering a sweet tone with a great level of depth, this instrument is ideal for the chamber musician or soloist looking to play intimate venues.

The back is of two pieces of maple cut on the quarter of medium width flame extending downward from the center joint. The ribs and scroll are of similar maple. The neck is grafted with highly flamed maple. The top is of two pieces of spruce cut on the quarter of narrow width grain widening slightly at the flanks. The varnish is red-brown over a golden ground.
