Romberg - Sonata In E Minor Op 38 No 1 - for Cello and Piano - edited by Jeffrey Solow - International Music Company

Bernhard Romberg is perhaps most notable for turning down an offer by Beethoven to compose a cello concerto for him, saying that he preferred his own compositions.  Though it is hard not to resent Romberg for this, there is no denying that his own compositions were not bad either.  They are indeed good enough to not only remain a staple of the cello repertoire, but this one in particular served as inspiration for Brahms' own Cello Sonata in e minor.
