Harmonious Melodies Volume II for Two Violins has now been transcribed for Cello and Viola! It was so delightful to hear how beautifully the two C-stringed instruments complement each other. Rarely are the cello and viola found playing intermediate/advanced pieces together. Like the violin version, Volume I includes many pieces in Suzuki Books 1, (starting with Bach Minuets) 2 and 3. Many of the shorter pieces in Books 5-7 are in Volume II, with numerous violin transcriptions and standard works included in both volumes. With the melody in the cello, a few extra pieces are included that feature the cello (The Swan, Eccles Sonata, Webster Scherzo, Chanson Triste and Allegro Appassionato). The vast quantity of music included (28 pieces in Volume one and 26 in Volume two) makes these books an appealing resource for string players.
