Clifford Roberts (1953-2010) began his career as a sculptor prior to studying at the Scuola Internazionale di Liuteria di Cremona (Internaional School of Violin Making in Cremona). There he studied under master makers such as Francesco Bissolotti and Gio Batta Morassi. Upon completion of his studies in Italy, Roberts established his shop in New York.
